Category D (Bus) Driving Courses
Category D allows you to drive buses designed to carry more than 8 passengers. Training for this category can generally start from age 24, though for those holding an initial professional qualification for passenger transport (code 95), the age threshold can be lowered to 21.
A full category D course includes theory and practical driving lessons in a bus, followed by the school's internal tests and then the official exams at Regitra. The course costs 500 €, the same whether you choose practical training alone or theory together with practical. An extra 2-academic-hour lesson costs 150 €.
Category D is most often chosen by people planning to work in passenger transport – on city, intercity, or international routes. Theory classes are held at Vilniaus vairavimo mokykla's premises at V. Druskio g. 2 in Karoliniškės, and practical lessons are conducted with an actual bus, moving gradually from exercises on a closed area to driving on city streets.
